One of the greatest things about Singers is the oppor- tunity to spread joy. The Lee College Singers are per- formers both on the risers and off. When the job of renovating M201 presented itself, the Singers arrived with paint brush, furniture polish, and rug shampoo in hand. Some of the most important off-the-risers perform- ers in the Singers are the accompa- nists, those piano-playing, brass-blow- ing, bass-picking accompanists. Upon stepping on the risers the Singers find themselves performing in schools, con- cert halls, military bases, or wherever choral music is heard. Songs found in the sacred repertoire range from classical religious works to contemporary tunes. This 1973-74 season found the Singers ministering to the International Evangelism Congress in Mexico Citv, Mexico, camp meetings nationwide, and to churches of all denominations from Los Angeles, California to Gary, Indiana, on to Augusta, Maine. In April the Singers became the first Pentecostal choir to per- form at the National Association of Evangelicals Convention in Boston, Massachusetts. Baton Rouge, LA 2081 5 263 r - t Just next door I can hear Andrae Crouch on the stereo singing a song that says some- thing about thru it all. Somehow that song takes on a whole new meaning. Four years ago when I came to this campus Vindagua was merely a word I heard upperclassmen use with a hint of a smile on their lips. That word has now become a life style. But what is a life style if it cannot be shared with friends; people like Paul Conn, our sponsor, who patiently en- couraged the editor as she learned the ways and means of photojournalism; people like the section editors, who kept saying ' don ' t worry Ang, we ' ll get it, ' and sure enough; people like Ted Barrineau and his camera boys whose skill and creativity have yielded a publication replete with character; people like you whose expressions, ambitions, endeavors have changed reams of white enamel stock into the stuff memories are made of. It is all yours now — 264 pages plus cover. Oh the record in the next room just changed. Funny thing, now they are singing about a satisfied feelin ' in my soul. . . .
