VINDAGUA means looking through a glass darkly — fading memories, happy pastimes that can never be recalled with the same distinctness and clarity, unless a shut- ter is snapped and a word is written. A page is planned and printed, captur- ing each memory forever, and is piled on top of other memories — never really for- gotten, never truly remembered. When a book is opened an older world tugs at the heart — but the book will be closed again. ACADEMY , -:, tf?l IN THESE PAGES our special world is recalled through the lamps of knowl- edge, the frames of events, the panes of South Tower, the binoculars of action, the crystal of activities, the mirror of per- fection, and the picture of study. Our lives, the many shades and facets of ac- tivity and personality, are held steadfast and constant in the Almighty. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face, I Corinthians 13:12. DEDICATION And to love life through labour is to be in- timate with life ' s inmost secret. — The Prophet Kahili Gibran To one who stands with fervent loyalty and devotion to Lee College and her students . . . To one who lives with continued joy that comes only from a life embedded in Christ . . . To one who serves with all that is within him, humbly and faithfully . . . To one who loves us all, completely and de- votedly ... we affectionately dedicate the 1962 VINDAGUA to our own BROTHER CHARLES GRAHAM. In view of the crowded conditions of the 1961-62 term, the Board of Directors is specializing in practical improve- ments for Lee College. Already the upperclassmen of Simmons and Nora Chambers Halls have received new furniture, and several buildings on camous have undergone a face-lifting. Yearly improvements on functional buildings are on the agenda, to be followed through when funds allow. Plans of the Board for 1962-63 include the renovation of the Eait wing of Old Main, and the remodeling of the central part of Old Main after the 1962 General Assembly of the Churches of God. Lee has room to expand! We, the Student Body, appreciate the efforts of the Board of Directors to make Lee College a progressive college with an eye toward the future. Lewis J. Hughes I redident rruaheS I believe Lee College will outgrow its facilities soon, and make an even greater impact upon the church than it has in the past. The reason for my belief is the ac- celerated interest in education and the wholehearted co- operation that Lee is receiving from the Church, declares the president, the Reverend Ray H. Hughes. The Reverend Mr. Hughes is esteemed as an eminent minister in the Pentecostal movement, and is the speaker for Forward in Faith, the radio voice of the Churches of God. He has preached 1,200 radio sermons and has traveled to 45 foreign countries to minister the Word. He is a noted author with a rich background of experience. President Hughes stated that from all indications, this year ' s student body is one of the finest, both academically and spiritually. When asked whether he had any goals set for Lee, he replied, Yes. Some of them a e as follows: A four-year teacher ' s program, a full-time public relations director, and a building prcgram to restore Old Main. Marvin Golden i eaiitration, JranScripts, rsecordd, Dominate r eaidtrar A Jitne. Records of each student ' s grades, schedule and tran- scripts, and all veterans ' records are filed in the office of the Registrar, Mr. Stanley Butler. Mr. Butler predicts at least a 600 enrollment for 1962-63. (J- u5ine5$ Wast m. ermin anaaer ad cJLe ee i d udaet r Mr. Marvin Golden has served as Business Manager for the past seven years.
