Fo rewor n i kA Ian mas begun in this age to explore out- Ih9m9 ER. SPACE. This is a time of popular sensationalism and transient customs. Ideas are changing and standards are slipping. But we, even in this changing age, reaffirm with joy our faith and confi- dence in the ancient, but ever-living Word of God. The need of the hour is for men and women who are steadfast in the faith; therefore we would emphasize through the pages of the 1958 Vindagua the exhor- tation of Saint Paul— BE YE STEADFAST. We gaze in retrospect at the events of this year and discover with pleasure that all that has transpired — times of happiness, times of sor- row, times of rejoicing, times of sadness — these and many others seem to form themselves into a beautiful mosaic which only a heavenly hand could have created. We have been preparing for the voyage of life, but now the time has come for us to set sail. With our banner waving, our sails hoisted, our boat rising and falling gently with the pulsation of the sea, we begin the inevitable journey. But often, and sometimes suddenly, the sky darkens, the sea grows angry, the boat pitches with a shuddering thud and it seems that our spiritual life is gone. Wait! Above the tumult of the storm of doubt and frustration comes the calm, assuring admoni- tion— BE YE STEADFAST. Presently Christ of Galilee appears once more to still the hurricane of the moment. Yes, we can expect to face trouble and misunderstanding. Enemies will assail, Satan will roar, the skies will darken, and the storms of life will rage. But oh! the peace and tranquillity that our lives will know if — like a tree that is planted by the water — we are firmly rooted in the incomparable Word of God. Peruse these pages, relive various activities, recall fond memories. Then, check your life. Is it or has it been somewhat unstable? If so, sink the roots of your spiritual life deeper into the rich soil of God ' s promises and obey the plea of the Apostle to BE YE STEADFAST. — David Beatty, Editor
