Averill M Maxwell J Pottle S Good P Blake Second row J Seller G Bacon R Crocker, C Dunn W Sprague Mr Lowell, L Chandler, W Clukey N Bittar Johnny J BOYS' BASKETBALL This year was one of the better years for Lee, in the field of basketball. The boys showed a lot of pep and fight throughout the season. Our most hearty congratulations go to Coach Lowell. He did a very fine job building the club as well as leading them on to victory. Our record of eight wins and ten losses does not really give the full truth of the ability of our basketball team. With only one veteran back from last year's team it was quite a job for the coach. We all wish to thank the team for the good job they did. When the suits were assigned. Coach Low- ell told the boys that none of the recipients were keeping the suits permanently. He demonstrated what he meant when he changed the whole lineup around. The five boys who finished the year as starters were as follows: Forwards, Steve Good and Bill Spragueg Center, Maynard Maxwellg Guards, Lee 32 Wilton 50 Lee Newport Howland e Brownville Jct Lee Schenck Lee Lincoln Lee Mattawamkeag John Pottle and Paul Blake. Honorable men- tion should go to our five other good re- serves. They were Wayne Clukey, Larry Chandler, Greg Bacon, Ronnie Crocker and Carl Dunn. They all deserve credit for the fine job they did this season. Next year watch those boys! ! A lot of veterans will be back. The scoring was well divided among the players. Anyway we out-scored our oppo- nents. Maxie was high man for the season with 216 points. Next to him was our big forward, Billy Sprague. He contributed 164 points for Lee's cause. Seven of the next eight had 30 or more points. Boys, you did a good job!!! The team wants to convey its thanks to our cheerleaders who did a very good job cheering, no matter what the outcome of the game was. Thanks girls! As usual there were a large number of girls out to practice, and Coach Dingley had a hard job choosing. He made three teams. The varsity was chosen to be: Helen White, Gloria Carr, Kay Bagley, Myrtle Todd, Priscilla Hatch, Hazel Steven, Barbara Moore, Shirley Crowley, Carolyn Dicker, and Nancy Knightly. They elected Jean Tozier as manager. The girls had a season 'of eight wins and five losses. There also was a good J.V. team. They were: Mildred Tozier, Babe Sherwood, Lor- raine Whitney, Lois Shorey, Gail Loupin, Marion Ham, Thelma Dicker, Jeanine Bubier and J-oan Shorey. Their manager was Mary Blaisdell. They played four games. The varsity schedule was: Home games L.A. SOFTBALL The girls' softball team had a fine season, with 4 wins and 2 losses. The highlight of the season was the trip to Old Town. This was a hard-foughtegame sparked by home runs by Jo, Gloria and Althea R. Lee girls rallied and were ahead at 'one point almost to win from the larger school rivals. They also played two games with Howland and were triumphant. Girls who were awarded letters were: Al- thea Applebee, Jo Sprague, Captain, Bessie Dam, Babe Sherwood, Carolyn Dicker, Nancy Knightly, Mildred Tozier, Althea Robinson, Gail Loupin, and Ann Houghton, Manager. They hope this season will be an even more successful one with most of the old players back.
