The motto of Future Homemakers of America expresses the purpose of the organ- ization, learning to live better today in order that our lives and those of our families may be better tomorrow. The Future Homemakers of America is a new club organized at Lee Academy this year.. The following ofiicers were elected: Presi- dent, Marion Gouldg Vice President, Mary Butlerg Secretary, Jeannie Averillg Treasur- er Colleen Treadwell' Parliamentarian Mary Jane Knightly Reporter Jane Oliver Historian Hazel Stevens Song Leader Roberta Merrill Adviser Mis Frazier Some of the F H A members worked on the Future Farmers banquet They received enough money to pay the state dues for the entire club. There was a supper given by the F. H. A. for the students when the busses stayed over for a basketball game. The food was solicited from the members and a large crowd attended. At Thanksgiving time the students were asked to bring food for admission to a movie. The food was then made up into Thanks- giving baskets and distributed to the poor and needy in the town. The money that was received from the F F A banquet the supper for the bus students and sale of pop at the basketball games added to our treasury The club has had a successful first year under the guid ance of a very capable teacher and with the cooperation of the students lzr X Sibley H Stuens C Ticadxxtll J Axeiill 'NI Gould M Butlei M Ixmghtlx J Olixei S Gifford Nu-ond rou B Yeomans J Goodwin M king J Shorey P Hatch L Shorey I Craig II Rounl A Gould P Campbell NI hIlCl'l3.Ud Third rou D Thurlow C Smith I Dickei -X Hanscom S Harris A MacDonald D Haslam 9 y , . . . , l . 1 9 1 7 . . . 9 , , - r y . .
