junior Varsity Cheerleaders QKFP 40' This year's l.V. Cheerleading squad was a group of very enthu- siastic girls. They were all hard- working and their determination helped them to reach their goals. This summer they attended NCA cheerleading camp. They also participated in selling pro- grams at all the football games throughout the season. As basket- ball season rolled around the squad's spirit did not diminish. They continued to rally behind the various l.V. teams under the lead- ership of Mrs. Hedgecock. ...slams Left: I. V. Being number one was the goal that this year's Varsity Cheerlead- ers wanted to achieve. They put forth a lot of hard work and time which led them to reaching their goal. They began by attending the Golden Eagle Cheerleading Camp at Meredith College for a week during the summer. Even though the workouts were strenuous and they could barely walk by the end of the week, the squad managed to bring home seven blue ribbons. L 'Vw' '.. , They won the Varsity competition which entitled them to the trophy and the banner on display in the gym. They were also named the Most Spirited Squad and were awarded a giant megaphone for their efforts. The squad'strived hard to keep their spirit up throughout the school year. They worked hard and were guided by the leadership of Mrs. Penny Newton.
