Stand 'n' Gavel Club Striving to promote competitive speech, The Stand 'n' Gavel Club remains a vital part of the curriculum at Ledford. The active members of the club attend va- rious speech and debate tournaments throughout North Carolina and continue to uphold the winning reputation Ledford has gained. They compete in all tournament divisions, including Varsity Debate. Novice Debate, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Original Oratory, Dramatic Interpretation, Extemporaneous Speaking, Duo Acting, and Student Congress. Mr. and Mrs. William Hudson provide unlimited support and advice and travel with the students to the tournaments.
