Science Club This is the second year that Ledford has had a Scien- ce Club. The Science Club is sponsored by Mr. Michael and Mrs. Tuttle. This club is for those interested in science and science related subjects. This year the members collected aluminum cans during American Education Week to raise money for activities. The club also visited the Research Triangle and the Discovery Place in Charlotte. The club mem- bers went on several field trips to science related locations. These trips helped the members become more aware of the many aspects in the field of sci- ence. Rlght: Front row: Kirk Clinard Cvice-presidentj, Chip Spainhour Cpresidentj. Pep Club The Pep Club added much enthusiasm to the ball- games and pep rallies throughout the year. This year the club supported many school related activities. Their first major project was Homecoming. Leading up to the big night, the club organized Spirit Week and turned Ledford into a Movieland. At the game on Friday night, with help from the student body, they gave a Hollywood Debut as the theme of halftime show. Next, the club sponsored the Powder- puff Football Game. Both teams played well, but the freshman-iunior team came out ahead of the sopho- more-senior team. At Christmas the club members showed their holi- day spirit by placing a wreath on every door and decorating a Christmas tree outside the office. During American Education Week, the Pep Club placed spirit flags in the cake which was being served as dessert in the cafeteria. The Pep Club not only gives of its time, but it also donates money to various causes. This year the club purchased headsets for the Athletic Department. This spring, Mrs. lackie Tuttle, the club's sponsor, took the club to Carowinds. Left: Heidi Lankford Cvice-presidenti. Mrs. lackie Tuttle fadvisori.
