I I6 Varsity Boys' Basketball This year's varsity boys' team was noted for the excitement they added to their games. Once conference play began, their games were almost always de- cided in the final minutes. Nine of the eleven team mem- bers were seniors who led the team to a IO-14 overall record, and a 5-9 conference record. They had big wins over West Davidson and arch rival East Davidson. ln tournament play, the Pan- thers dominated the Red Raiders in the first round, but fell short against West Davidson in the sec- ond round. At the Athletic Banquet, Steve Williams was named Most Valu- able Player, Danny Sapp, Best De- fensive Player and jeff Murrow, Most Improved Player. Steve Wil- liams was also chosen for the All- Conference team.

se- The l.V. boys basketball team may have had their troubles this season, but they managed to work hard together and pull out a 7-7 conference record. Coach Tim Lee felt that this year's l.V. team showed a willingness to S ff- .lsst - . work hard, which allowed them to improve from the beginning of the season to the end.
