I08 Wresdlng Through all the long hard work- outs, both the j.V. and Varsity wrestling teams worked to make their seasons a success. The j.V. wrestling team may have had dif- ficulty in getting their season started, but the team put in a lot of hard work which resulted in a great learning experience for them. Coach David Smith said, This year's j.V. wrestling team showed much promise for the fu- ture teams of Ledford. lt was a young team which had much heart and desire though our record was not good. This year's wrestling program improved tremendously from the first tournament. All the success of this year's program was the end results of hard work and ded- ication. Coach Allred's quote is a good summary of this year's Var- sity wrestling team. The hard- working team, supported by the leadership of seniors Ricky Cob- bler, David jackson, and Shawn Todd, Hnished the season with a 8-4 record. Doug Saintsing, a ju- nior, was also a great help to the team. He placed second in the Sectionals and advanced to the Regionals. At the Winter Athletic Ban- quet jonathon Freeman received the Most Improved award for j.V. and Eric Potts received the same award for Varsity. David jackson was named Most Valuable Wres- tler for the year.
