Faculty DONALD KIMBALL The main purpose of driver education is to make students more safety-con- scious. Nearly anyone can learn to maneuver a car. The most important value that should be brought through driver education is the development of a good attitude toward driving and other drivers. If taking the course can be the means of saving even one person from serious injury or death, the course will have been worth- while. BEULAH EDWARDS It is hoped that English students will fomi good speech and writing habits through daily practice and study, since ability to speak and write correctly is a mark of an educated person. Directed studies in literature also aim at teaching ap- preciation for leisure reading as well as ways of evaluating printed materials for informative reading. Reports, research papers, and themes are emphasized especial- ly for college-bound students. Mrs. Edwards sponsors the Annual each year and is co-sponsor of the junior class. , . MARJORIE SHEELEY It is the primary purpose of the Home Economics Department to introduce those enrolled to the seven areas of homemaking. Four years are taughtg each year delves deeper into each area until the senior girls play the role of homemaker and consumer. We hope to prepare each girl to be a better homemaker and to be able to adjust to our changing society.
