President Although the 1962-63 school year is at an end, this has been a beginning for Lebanon High in some respects. Our wrestling team achieved the state championship for the first time. Lebanon's basketball team participated in the state tournament for the first time in twelve years. Our student body has shown its power, unity and interest in the school by winning the annual jamboree trophy and the state sportsmanship award at the state tournament. Interest and support in other school activities has increased greatly and the results are obvious. I.R.L. brought home its third state award for the I.R.L. outstanding club; the Chess Club again gained the Willamette Valley Chess championship for the third consecutive year. Other clubs displayed their interest and support through the success of the school sponsored Karneville. The A.S.B. President is only as effective as the support and cooperation given by the student body. With your help we have made this year a success. Sincerely yours, TIM BLANCHAT A.S.B. F. S. Exchange Student Dear friends of Lebanon, Having lived about one year amongst you, I feel like a part of you; and it makes me so sad to think that I will have to leave you soon. I would like to thank to each of you for the nice things you have done for me. Indeed, through the past months, I have witnessed your warm hospitality, sin- cere friendliness and constant helps to me; those which attracted me as much as your remarkably advanced country. As I have spent a wonderful year with you, I have learned and experienced a lot of things that weren't in the books. I cer- tainly agree that no man is different from another; no matter what kind of religion, nationality and way of living they may adopt. I have an impression that the dif- ferences between the ways of living can no longer be a cause for misunderstand- ings and prejudices in the minds of civilized men. As I leave U S A., I have gathered the most fascinating things and with the finest impressions. It will be my pleasure and responsibility to tell these things to my own people in Turkey, t wish you happy fu- tures and great success in your lives. The climax of our year was the Junior-Senior Prom, Grecian Dreams. Mr. Page crowned Carolyn Shores, Queen Carolyn I. At her sides were princesses Pat Orona, Cathy Martin, Jayne Patton, Kay Yates, Malinda Jackson, and Colleen Glenn. As seniors, we elected the following officers.- President, Dennis Elder,- Vice President, Mike Morse,- Secretary, Jan Hanson; Treasurer, Dawn Carter. Senior girls on A squad were Queen Cathy Martin, Diana Gill, Linda Oakley, and Jan Geddes. Florence Swan- son reigned as Homecoming Queen and Malinda Jackson was a Senior princess. Our winter formal, Snowflake Flurry , was a big success. Karen Jensen was queen of the Girls' League Dance, Moonlight Escapade . As we leave L.U.H.S. we would like to thank all our advisors and faculty members. They have helped to pave the way to our futures. We know the doors will always be open and the halls always filled with the memories of good-times passed. The friendships will never be forgotten. 97 DARRYL ABBOTT Sergeant-at-Arms PHIL NEAL GARY CRAWFORD President Vice President mark McPherson Representative JIM RETTINGER DIANA TUMA Representative
