For the past four years are over and done, And togehter we've been through a lot. In the beginning four years was a mountainous And time crawled and creeped and stood still, But looking back we flew through that time, And our mountain wasn't even a hill. Now that they're done, memories will fade, But we can't let them disappear. So just to remind you of good times, not bad, We've presented this SOUVENIR. aww? The Class of '80 arrived at Lebanon High School for the first day of their freshman year. When election time came around John Sloan was elected president of the class. Other officers were as follows: Carol Bennett, vice-president: Lisa Johnson, secretaryg and Karen Angus, treasurer. Shondrai Shockley was elected as sgt.-at-arms. Ricky Miller and Lora Johnson were elected as Class Favorites. John Bryan was chosen to represent the class as executive member of Student Council. Robbie Dedman was chosen as the freshman attendant at the homecoming activities. Jimmy Harris was her escort. That year the class won the first place championship in intramurals by defeating the senior class in the finals. The boys' basketball team became District Champions that year. The spring musical was Lil' Abner. John Bryan gave an excellent performance as a major character in the play. Summer came around and the class was given their first long vacation in high school. They returned in the fall of '77 as sophomores. However, they were given another long vacation shortly after Christmas and missed a total of 24 days of school because of snow and bad road conditions. That year John Sloan was again elected to serve as president of the class. The vice-presidential position was filled by Robbie Dedman while the class elected Karen Angus secretary. Connie Tribble and Ricky Miller were elected treasurer and sgt.-at-arms respectively. Leigh Ann Harper represented the class as executive member of Student Council. Lora Johnson represented the class at the homecoming activities and was escorted by John Sloan. It was a good year for the girls' basketball team. They were runners-up in the state competition. The spring musical was Bravo Broadway, with Lisa Coffee, Don Hutchinson, and Andy Taylor filling major roles. As juniors the class of '80 elected Andy Taylor president. Ricky Miller was elected vice-president and Donna Lea became the new secretary. Leigh Ann Harper was elected treasurer and Troy Putman filled the position of sgt.-at-arms. Shondrai Shockley and Ricky Miller were chosen as Class Favorites. Lora Johnson again represented her class at homecoming and was escorted by Gary Bradshaw. The Junior class float won first place that year, defeating the traditional winner, the Senior class. A homecoming court for basketball was selected and Tesa Armistead and John Bryan represented the class. A revised dress code was placed in effect during their reign as juniors. Sandy Maynard returned to school during the second semester after recovering from an immobilizing car accident. As of last year, our girls' basketball team has made it to the state tournaments two years in a row. Because of her hard work and dedication to the team, Gail Corder was named to the All-State Team her junior year. Lebanon High School was spotlighted on Channel 5 during the spring of 1979. The spring musical that year was A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Forum. Lisa Coffee and Don Hutchinson had major roles and performed very well. In the fall of 1979, Sandra Carney and Russ Brown were chosen National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalists. It was a rare honor for Lebanon High School to have two recipients of this award.
