LINDA WATSON ln the fall of '57 a new club was formed in Lebanon High School, a local chapter of Future Teachers of America. In high schools and colleges all across America such clubs are being formed as a source of recruitment for the teaching profession. The organization was started with seventeen members from the iunior and senior classes. The beginning group is especially strong in scholarship. Theyi hope to present a play before the year is over. They help teachers who need to be absent from their rooms a period or two, if a teacher needs to attend a meeting, a student teacher takes charge of his or her class. In each way, the club members have done a splendid iob. They enjoyed a casual supper together before Christmas and presented a radio program during Ameri- can Education Week. It is a leadership club, which renders services to the school. Membership is limited to boys of the iunior and senior classes who have above average grades and are approved by the principal. All members must posess qualities of good leadership and citizenship. The Key Club sold informative programs at all home basketball games and also parked cars. In the spring they plan to sell school pins to the student body. Mr. Fowler is sponsor of the organization. This year the Camera Club has been a great help to the SOUVENIR by sup- plying many grand snapshots. The Homecoming parade and game and the Christmas parade were special proiects. As an annual event the Camera Club sponsors a display of the National Pho- tographic Contest winners in the library for the benefit of the student body. The Camera Club held its initiation in the fall and plans to have another party before the close of school.
