After the band members became ac- quainted with each other they began to work . . . and work . . . and work! Their work and spirit showed as they repre- sented LHS in different competitions, always bringing home splendid reports and top ratings. 19 HOMECOMING WEEK The week before Home- coming was a busy week for everyone, especially the SCA, as they scheduled the parade, bon- fire and dance, coordinated the election of the Homecoming court, and ordered the mums. The work lessened, but the ex- citement grew more intense as the week wore on, and it ended with a bang, leaving everyone satisfied that their efforts had paid off. 20 21 22 First came the parade, with the judging of the floats. That night, many students warmed themselves by the bon- fire. The next day, Halloween in fact, we were dismissed from our afternoon classes to watch Lebanon triumph over Hurley. Saturday evening we celebrated our victory with the Homecoming dance. We danced to the music of C.C. Express, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was the perfect end to an exciting week. 23 VJ v HOMECOMING KING AND QUEEN Jan Jessee, Bobby Farmer SENIOR ATTENDANTS Fred Jessee, Carol Osborne SENIOR ATTENDANTS Billy Stinson, Donna Kegley SENIOR ATTENDANTS David Owens, Belinda Roman 24 JUNIOR ATTENDANTS David Garrett, Sandra Poston FRESHMAN ATTENDANTS Ronnie Steffey, Lorri Duty SOPHOMORE ATTENDANTS Randy Addison, Nancy Meade Mr. Frank Horton served as parade marshal, and crowned Jan Jessee 1976 Homecoming Queen. It was encouraging to see the students and faculty members enjoying the 50 ' s day activities together. There was a sock hop held in the gym, and our own little 50 ' s group performed for us. Prizes were awarded to those students who had the most original costumes. i 1 1 1 M «r J A m KKii jP| CHRISTMAS Christmastime was certainly a busy time for LHS! Many activities were going on; among them were the choir ' s season- al presentation and a visit from Santa Claus. The SCA spon- sored the White Christmas program again this year, but it was done a little differently. Many cans of food were brought to the school and were later distributed by the Department of Social Services to families who needed it. Christmas decorations and season ' s greetings could be found all over the school as the Christmas spirit began to surround us. The choir presented a Christmas concert. Coach Duncan, in red and green, was master of ceremonies. Santa asked what we wanted for Christmas and most of the guys requested reindeer! 39 40 We got to take a break and the seniors made some money when Crow River ap- peared in concert. The students en- joyed the program; some of them really got involved in the music and gave us something to remem- ber! Rings, rings, rings. Suddenly they were everywhere, especially at the front of the lunch line! After they had been around for a while, the seniors began to be- lieve this was really their senior year. They celebrated with a ring dance, and Crow River enter- tained throughout a very plea- sant evening. 43 MiSS SWEETHEART 2nd runner-up — Lesia Gray 1st runner-up — Marjorie Meade The Junior class sponsored the Miss Sweetheart contest to raise money for the prom. Kathy, Marjorie, and Lesia, as well as the other contestants and contributors made the contest a great success. The Home-Ec. and Agriculture students co- sponsored a Sweetheart dance on Valentine ' s Day. Martha Vanhook, pres, of the FHA, and Randy Fields, pres, of the FFA crowned David Owens and Cheryl King Sweethearts. MISS SWEETHEART - Kathy Smith 44 School has a tendency to become a little dull after a while, and when it does, it ' s time to quit doing the same old thing day after day. Lots of the teachers livened up their classes with new teaching methods. Miss Whitt ' s P.E. class tried some ballet exercises. Visual aids are a nice change . . . And bee-hive building is new to most of us! 45 J— l J— L-J-L Some of the students . . . played house?! Actually, these Home Ec, students were studying child care. 46 Nothing new in study hall today! Members of the STENO class worked for the Lester Hill Corporation. Each stu- dent had her own position with the company, and Vanessa Parks (left) was their general manager. This project provided a valuable learning experience for all the participants. Though all of them were very pretty, Dar and Rebecca were chosen as the top two runners-up, and Kim as Miss L.H.S. 57 This year — as every year — the Senior class found an opportunity to raise a little money and have a little fun. Our tough Senior guys donned themselves in mini-skirts and pantyhose and made ready to compete for the title of MISS SENIOR 1976 T ' k The beauties promenaded . . . Mrs. Fuller directed the choir . . . 68 At last, the long-awaited Senior picnic . . . 69 Joe was a state winner in the Special Olympics. ALL-DISTRICT CHOIR MEMBERS: Vincent Gilmer and Cheryl King. New S.C.A. officers were installed Many students re- ceived recognition for their accomplishments on awards day and at the athletic banquet. 70 As the year ' s end drew closer, students grew restless. They worked hard, however, because they knew they must prepare themselves for final exams. Many students were very happy to find out that they didn ' t have to take finals in classes in which they had maintained A ' s and B ' s. 71 JUNIOR-SENIOR PROM 72 We enjoyed the music provided by Bacchus . . . and the dancing . . . . . . and the refreshments . . . 73 We took time out for the naming of 1976 Prom Carol Osborne was named Queen, and Fred Jessee King.
