Text from Pages 1 - 144 of the 1969 volume:

Time is the essence of being; without it, we would have no existence. Time is made up of whatever we are, whatever we do; it is composed of laughter, of weeping, of silence, of thought or pain, of all the matter that makes us individuals. Time has a purpose. It is the healer of the scar we bear when friends are snatched from us, it mends the broken heart, and it repairs the damaged feelings between friends. Time creates a world of challenge that we face and accept to become a true self. Always in the future, time is not past. It passes, but when it is gone, it is no longer time; it becomes memory. The only thing we have that gives us escape, hope, peace, and love is time. Use it or lose it wisely. It will never be again.
