College Day was the first Senior event held in the fall. After an explanation of college work and college life by various representatives, about thirty-eight percent of the class decided to enter college for further study. When calling cards were ordered, Seniors began to feel the responsibility of completing a year’s work successfully so that they could be spring graduates. Christmas served as a time for our first party. Refreshments were served in the cafeteria and the Senior sponsors, Mrs. Vicars and Mrs. Gilmer, were presented lovely gifts. Rat Week was held March 11th through the 15th. At this time Seniors were elevated to the posi- tion of having any reasonable demand fulfilled by Juniors. This occasion closed with a program and party in the auditorium on Friday. The Senior play was given in May. Tryouts and practices were happy events. Invitations were ordered and Seniors were measured for caps and gowns March 15th. Later, the Jun- ior-Senior banquet and prom offered many happy memories for Seniors who participated in the joyful occasion. The Baccalaureate sermon and graduation night closed the book for the year 1962-63. 15 Jim Rasnake, Sonnie Lee, Elizabeth Robinson, Ann McReynolds, and Jimmy Gray think of graduation as they focus their attention on commencement programs.
