Of these only hve were left from last year's Varsity Squad. The weeks of practice flew hy, until the day of our first game arrived, when we played the Alumni. This game ended in a tiefthe score being 3-3. The next game we acted as hostesscs to the Towle High School lassies. and we were oliliged to how to them, 2-0. We traveled to Franklin for our third game and handed them a 2-0 defeat. At last the day arrixed when we played Hanover and harely won this game with a score of 2-l. Our second game with Franklin, on our home tield, gave us more satisfaction than the Hrst, as we heat them 3-0. On our return game to Hanover, we were defeated 2-1. Then came the day of our final game, the last game for the Seniors, which was with Newport. This was a sad day for everyone.. for they defeated us once more. This time the score was 4+-2. During the epidemic of mumps wc lost our starting center, Red Johnson. Six lettermen from last year's squad were on hand plus several promising candidates from the J.V. squad of a year ago. The Lassies got oil to a slow start by dropping their first four games, but this did not lower their spirit, as they came back to Win the next four. Two of the most thrilling con- tests of the season were with Lebanonis nearby rival, Hanover. ln both tilts the Lassies managed to edge out the Hanover girls by a basket, 36-34 and 24-22. The season, resulting with a record of 6 games won and 8 games lost, was a good season for the girls, in spite of their defeats.
