xiii!!-I Xp ,E-J Class Prophecy TJ Excerpt from the diary of Violet Vacuum Iune 1 1982 Dear Diary I am so excited Ive Just completed my first day upon Planet landing upon this man made planet Diary how well I remember that twenty five years ago this very hour the members of the class of 1957 vowed that they would not give up until they had conquered new worlds For many years they had sought to conquer the planets Finally they pronounced that project entirely too easy and went about creating their own private little world just think Diary their own private planet' McMaaskreutz was duly launched into the stratosphere with the members of the class and their families safely on board Today has convinced me, Diary, when I recall the trip from the world to Mclvlaaskreutz Planet We traveled on a luxurious interplanetary railroad invented by Marvin Breitkreutz who started out his career as coach of Gettysburg High School but resigned to become a railroad magnate He 15 now president of this interplanetary railroad concern In addition to his duties as president, he is the push button operator who sends the egg shaped trains hurtling through space Diary do you remember that interesting tall boy in tne Class of 19577 Oh yes Ierry Maas' Do you remember how hard he worxed to get out of working and how hard he thought to avoid thinking? Well Ierry became tired of thinking of how to mane enough money to keep his great interplanetary banking system financially sound So he invented a robot to do h1s thinking for him Production of thought was so great that Ierry is selling canned thought throughout the universe, especially on those planets where independent thought is forbidden jerry 1S now working on another entirely new robot that can calculate automatically his daily income tax Diary remember the editor of the Lebanonite 7 Working on the annual resulted in his becoming interested in the world of literature Bruce is now the author of the several best sellers The most recent is Through the Stratosphere in Sixty Seconds He is also originator and editor of the magazine Scientific Mclvlaaskreutz Once a phllatelist he now has as his hobby collecting portraits of glamorous brunettes Now Diary for some sleep' Days and nights are snort on McMaaskreutz and morning lS exactly three hours away QW' .
