Graduation Initiates Use of Gymnasium Thoughts of the past twelve years of schooling flash through the minds of the 1968 graduates as they file into the partially completed gymnasium for commencement. Linda Adair. 1'il'U7If Row: Nancy Nlolello, Linda XVood. 14 As the opening chords of f'Pomp and Circumstanceu rang through the rafters, the 1968 graduating class solemnly entered the new gymnasium, ending twelve years of school and commencing a bright future. Following the invocation, president Jerry Cunningham led in the lighting of the seven tapers symbolizing desirable characteris- tics found in young adults. Donna McClanahan introduced the speakers who developed the theme, Marble: The Facsimile of Human Refinementf, The first speaker, Linda Adair, began the process with her speech, Mining Hutson for Sell'-Discoveryfl Jack spoke next on UShaping through Education. The finishing touches were added by Linda YVood, who completed the process with f'Pol- ishing for Proficiency. Principal Kenneth Dooley SLIIH- moned the seniors to receive their diplomas, which were issued by Superintendent Joseph Foust. As a finale the class joined the Concert Choir in singing Hymn to LHS. As a fitting conclusion to the impressive ceremonies, Nancy Ann XVright delivered the henediction, Senior class president, Jerry Cunning- ham, leads the way for fellow classmates.
