Lois Jeanne McRoberts, Lebanon's D. A. R. Good Citizen. This year's recipient of the D. A, R. Good Citizenship Award, was Lois Jeanne Mc:Roberts, senior. She was selected by a faculty vote from a list of senior girls chosen to be on the ballot by a vote of the girls in the Senior Class. Jeanne took examinations with the winners from the county schools, and the winner of the county contest will, in turn, have her paper sent in to the state contest. L C LUB Since sports play such an important part in the activities of our high school lives, special recognition is given to those who participate wholeheartedly and become skilled in them. The HL Club was organized to bring together the boys who earn letters in basketball, baseball, and track. Their sponsor is Mr. Witsman. Bob Cook, 5' 9M senior, is Lebanon's first Bfletter winner for a number of years. Bob won his letters in basketball, baseball and track. AND OUR CITIZENS In the spring of 1948, two Junior girls and two Junior boys were chosen from the class of 1949, to represent Lebanon at the annual Hoosier Girls' State and Boys' State. They were chosen as delegates for being outstanding in citizen' ship, leadership, and interest in government. The purpose of Hoosier State is to further the understanding of state government by actual participation of all of the delegates in order that they may become better citizens of the future. Donald Wolgast and Herbert Rowland were sent to Boys' State by the Lebanon branch of the American Legion. Marcia Edwards, who was runnerfup to the most out' standing Girl Stater, was sent by the American Legion Auxiliary of Lebanon, and Erin Whitney was sent by the Lebanon chapter of Tri Kappa Sorority.
