H1153- THE 1927 CEDARS Mack Slusser, '25, was elected as the first Master Councillor of the Boone County Chapter, Orderof DeMolay, which was chartered here this year. Forty-three members of the class of 1926 attended college this year. Oscar Smith is a letter man in three sports at Indiana Centralg Morris Crain, Wisconsin: Clarence Lasley, Butler, and James Reed Bohannon, Wabash. All won numerals in some branch of athletics. Three members of the class of l926 are teaching this year-Jewell Kin- caid, Martha Beaty and Dorothy Finch. Bennie DeVol, '23, was captain of Wabash College basketball team this year. Evan Walker, '26, who attends Butler this year, is soloist at the Meridian Street Methodist Church. Mrs. Cora O. CPedigoj Bynum, who completed her high school course in 1878, but was unable to participate in a commencement exercise on account of illness in her family, and who therefore was never awarded a diploma, will be a member of the class of 1927, receiving her diploma at the Commencement Exercises. Mrs. Bynum is well-known and well-loved as our city librarian. Wallace L. Wright, '80, is a teacher at Manila, Philippine Islands. Frederick Van Nuys, '94, formerly United States District Attorney, and at present a practising attorney in Indianapolis, is the Commencement speaker for the class of 1927. Merton Keefe, '98, an engineer for the Ulen Construction Company, is located at Athens, Greece. Roy Adney, '99, was the Democratic nominee from the Ninth Congres- sional District for Congress last fall. Two sons of Aaron Miller, '99, were members of the Waldron High School Basketball team, which was one of the sixteen teams at the State Tournament this year. Donald Higbee, 'l7, is located with the International Banking Company, Bombay, India. Lolita Thomas, '09, was elected County Clerk at the last fall election. Horace Wysong, '06, is Superintendent of Schools, and Harold Sanford, '20, is athletic director at Covington, Indiana. Noble Beck, 'l9, has been the donor for six years of a trophy cup to the member of the basketball team who shows the best attitude toward coach and rest of the team. displays the greatest courtesy to opponents and officials, and has shown most interest in school work and other highschool activities.
