Gold disks featuring black Japanese characters highlighted the north wall. A An oriental floral arrangement was the centerpiece on each table. Miniature umbrellas and programs with Japanese writing completed the table decoration. Colorful Japanese lanterns carried out the oriental atmosphere. The refreshments, cake and pink punch, were served by eight freshmen wearing costumes from the Far East. Ann Hohrein, Junior class president, gave the welcoming speech while Carolyn Koehler, Senior class president, made the response. The prophecy of the class of '59 was read by Anng Carolyn read the will A Princess of the Orient was chosen from the names of the senior girls A bracelet was presented to the Princess, Gloria Harms. During intermissions the theme was continued by playing records from the movie Sayonara,

i757 mam-Sham Team The Lebanon Community High School was transformed into an oriental splendor for the junior-senior prom on May 2. The theme, Pink Pagoda, was effectively carried out. The entrance was decorated with panels covered with butterflies and Japanese writing. In the center of the refreshment table was abeautiful floral arrangement of shaggy chrysanthemums and green foliage accented with twigs of cherry blossoms. The walls and ceiling to the ballroom were coveredwith complimentary shades of pink crepe paper. In the south end of the gym was the center of attraction- -a pink pagoda trimmed in gold and black. Colorful lanterns were hung in the doorway. An arched bridge led from the pagoda to a Shinto shrine filled with purple iris. White trees with pink cherry blossoms completed the effect of the miniature oriental garden. The orchestra pit was decorated in black and gold. Juniors, seniors, and their guests danced to the music of the Jack Voland Trio. Four white columns were enhanced by pink flowering twigs. White panels on the west wall again accented the flowering twigs. .mx :S 1
