Because of our large class, fifty-two to be exact, we were again divided into two classes. Mrs. Beatrice Jones and Mrs. Dorothy Winterrowd piloted us through the third grade. Because of the opening of St. J'oseph's Parochial School, six of our number failed to appear with us in the fourth grade. But others were onhand to make our number swell, among these were Phyllis Ozment who completed grade and high school with us. With a gain of four and a loss of several we presented ourselves to Mrs. ,To Ann Simpson and Mrs. Margaret See in the fifth grade. Not one of the pupils who joined us at this point graduated with us. ln the sixth grade Vonzetta Fielding joined us as we joined Mrs. Virginnia Holten. As we entered the seventh grade we came face to face with our first male teacher, Mr. Lester Haury. Of the several who joined us only Ann Walker remained with us to the bitter end, When we graduated from the eighth grade there were twenty-nine of us, quite a drop from the thirty- eight who began kindergarten together. We have Mr. Rayburn Fox to thar1k for guiding us through the eighth grade and preparing us for high school. In the fall of 1956 fifty-four students entered as freshmen. Our gains were Robert Berkemann, Claude and Gerome Berry, Forchia Cambell, Tom Clark, Lavon Combs, Rosemary F aitz, Allan F rerking, Earl Harpstrite, Earl I-lock, Richard Klein, Donald Koenig, Ronald Kombrink, Susan Lutz, .Terry Meyer, Robert Meyer, Sharon Myers, Phyllis Ruth, Beverly Schroer, Marvin Schulte.

These thirteen are: Joel Berner, Joyce Brooks, Becky Engle, Betty French, Judy Krump, Dona Campe, John King, Sandra Monken, Richard Neal, Richard Ogden, Carol Rutherford, Judy Cotts, and Janet Widicus. In September of 1947 thirty-eight of us entered kindergarten. Mrs. Lillian Mendenhall taught us in two shifts--morning and afternoon. With Mrs. Leona Beck as our first grade teacher we gained eighteen pupils including Margaret Nunn and Jo Ann Johnson who stayed with us until the end of our Junior year. Our gains and losses this year jiggled themselves so that we numbered thirty-two. While the years were rushing by we were already in the second grade with Mrs. Florence Ditter- line and Miss Marjorie Dawes as teachers. Some joined us and some left for various reasons, but none of those who joined us this year remained to graduate with us.
