We, the Senior boys, will our ability to paint the water tower and not get caught to any of the Junior boys who aren't afraid of heights. We, the Seniors of '69, will our ability to get along with the school board, school administration, and faculty to the Junior class and wish them lots of luck in the future. CLASS PROPHESY At our first ten year reunion this is how we found our fellow classmates: BEVERLY ATWOOD has now lost her soft voice since she has to yell over Ivan's loud machinery. JERRY BEARDSLEE has now taken over the insurance business. He personally has formed a new policy that covers track boys that get shot with starting guns. DEANNA BELL is now teaching Kindergarten and is taking spelling lessons on the side. Her main rule is before e when after B - as in Bill, RUTPLBERGMAN is now the dean's wife at Colby Ju Co which has recently been turned into an agricul- ai tural college specializing in radishes. JUDY BOWMAN and Edd are now contributing to the population of Tipton. The score is two to three but just wait around, CYNTHIA BUETTGENBACH is working as a waitress in a Vietnamese cafe and delivers in her little red pick up. She is still looking for Roger. LISA COMBS is now the new Goldie Hawn on Laugh-In. During commercials she looks for the red- headed sheep shearer. TERRY DIECKER has now invented a car with no reverse. It has four on the floor and a fifth under the seat. DENNIS DICK now has his own private art studio. It is known as Dennis Dick's Dandy Delapidated Drawing Dump. LLOYD DICK has now taken Barney's place as Town Sheriff and when he read his rules he found out he was supposed to carry a pencil, KENNETH FRANKLIN has now taken Unkle Ben's place on the 3100 dollar bill. BILL HAAS has put the Air Force into debt because he keeps hijacking the planes to Oklahoma, MARCIA HERNDON has now gotten her contacts, but she 's not telling what kind, IVAN JORGENSEN has his own little shop called Iorgensen's Junky Jalopies, He specializes in cars wrecked by girlfriends. NIEL MANCHESTER and his wife have now set up horse racing at the Center since it brings back such fond memories, CINDY MAYDEW is now working for a wedding catering service that specializes in homemade wine and 310, O00 marriages. PAULA McCARTNEY is now second chair trombone in the Marine Corps Band. She was first chair until one day on parade when she dropped her slide. ROBERT PLETCHER is now a big political figure and has everyone wrapped around his little finger with a couple of exceptions, GLENN SCHUETTE has now returned to good ole L.H.S. and taken Harvey 's place as janitor since he got such good recommendations from K-State and Aimes High. SUSAN SWINDLER is now scrounging up business for the Peace Corps. When she leaves a community, they need help. VYONDA WARNER is one of the top notch beauticians in the area, Her special secret is that she rolls her customers' hair on her bottle collection, BARBARA WEBER has now bronzed her '52 Ford and is using it for a door stop at the Variety Store. an Ks CLASS HISTORY Twenty Freshmen started high school on August 27, 1965. Early in our freshman year we were joined by Siegelinda and LaVerne Inskeep. Our first class officers were: Pres. - Paula McCartneyg Vice- Pres. - Glenn Schuette: Secr. - Barbara Weberg Treas. - Cindy Maydewg Student Council Reps, - Jerry Beardslee and Marcia Herndon. Our class sponsor for our first three years was Mr. Larry Smith. A Fac- ulty-Varsity basketball game was sponsored for our first semester money raising project. Our second sem. project was an ice cream social held in the Legion Hall. We had a class party that year consisting of a hayrack ride to Bergman's followed by a barn dance. Jerry Beardslee was on the All League Football Team our Freshman year, Paula McCartney and Susan Swindler were in the Kayette Variety Show. Su- san Swindler received an honorable mention in Algebra I on the state scholarship tests. Lisa Combs and Bob Pletcher joined our class our sophomore year. Siegelinda and LaVerne lnskeep moved during the winter, leaving the class with 22 members. We elected our sophomore class officers with: Pres. - Paula McCartneyg Vice-Pres. - Cindy 'Maydewg Secr. - Ruth Bergmang Treas. - Marcia Herndon, Stu Co Reps. - Vyonda Warner and Glenn Schuette. A trash haul was decided upon for our money raising project for both semesters that year.. One of our class parties was a pizza party after a basketball game. At the end of the year we had a party at Mankato. We spent the day bowling, golf- ing, and having a picnic in the park. Six boys and six girls out of our class served the Junior Senior prom banquet. Cindy Maydew was a twirler and Ruth Bergman was the alternate cheerleader that year. Ruth Bergman received an honorable mention in Biology and Bob Pletcher received lst in the state in the state scholarship tests. Our Junior class officers were: Pres. - Cindy Maydew: Vice-Pres. - Glenn Schuetteg Secr. - Marcia Herndong Treas. - Jerry Beardsleeg Stu Co Reps. - Terry Diecker and Bob Pletcher. We chose our class motto to be Semper Cum Superbia, our flower 'to be a rose colored rose, and our class colors as rose and Wimbelton white. Our money raising projects were selling magazines and our Junior Play entitled No More Homework. We presented the Seniors of '68 with a banquet and prom with the theme Ori- ental Gardens. Jerry Beardslee was again chosen to be on the All League Football Team. Paula Mc- Cartney was an alternate cheerleader and Cindy Maydew was again a twirler. Ruth Bergman received an honorable mention on her score on the National Merit Scholarship test. Our class party was held at the end of the year at Kirwin Lake. It was a going away party for Mr. Larry Smith. Class officers our Senior year were: Pres. - Bob Pletcherg Vice-Pres. - Jerry Beardsleeg Corres. Secr. - Cindy Maydewg Treas. - Glenn Schuetteg Recording Secr. - Rugh Bergmang Stu Co Reps. - Paula McCartney and Marcia Herndon. Mr. Lee Combs was assigned to be our class sponsor. Ruth Bergman, Paula McCartney, and Lisa Combs were cheerleaders. Cindy Maydew and Paula McCartney were twirl- ers, Our homecoming King and Queen were Jerry Beardslee and Paula McCartney. Their attendants were Marcia Herndon, Ruth Bergman, Terry Diecker, and Bob Pletcher. Glenn Schuette, Kenny Frank- lin, and Jerry Beardslee were chosen to be on the All League Football Team. Bob Pletcher and Jerry Beardslee were on both the All League and All Tourney Basketball Teams. Our Senior Play was entitled The Cinderella Complex. The Junior class presented us with a very lovely prom with the theme Blue Hawaii. Bob Pletcher went to State Speech Contest with his original oration and a reading. Jerry Beardslee went to state track meet in the 100 yd. dash. Susan Swindler received the Betty Crock- er Homemaker Award. ln the state scholarship tests Ruth Bergamn received an honorable mention in American Govt. , 4th in Literature 12, and 2nd in World History. Our graduation was held on May 22, 1969 in the new gymnasium. We asked Harrell Guard to be our speaker.
