CLASS FLOWER COLORS AND MUPTO It is with a full realization of the sweet, deep power in the subtle voice of the flower that we have chosen for our class emblem, the beautiful carnation, the rich, fragrant blossom that means so much - , ',f'x . The carnation is, first of all ambi tious It was once -1 fx ' a simple, wildwoo pink, humble and unassum dNkf5AbC25- t ing in its wild and un trained sweetness vwwgxyfftlp' I But it was not at all satisfied with this y its crude and ignorant way of existing So it u K 12 determined to get a proper education, and thus APMQP to become the flower of re finement and culture that it now is lt wafts far and near of the best possible education and train ing The carnation also typifies endurance when it is plucked and I placed in a vase with other flowers, it will be found still fresh and smiling long after the others have been thrown away Because of this, we feel it very appropriate as a symbol of our Class of '57, which has now finished its task, while others have stopped by the way, and has been unable or unwilling to hold on until the end of the course only sweet and smiling faces upon the world, ever cheering and brightening every corner where destiny may place us We would be pure, as white is pure because of this it has been chosen for our primary color It signifies a union of all life's experiences, or completion Through the white we will be resurrected to the new life of all things pure and true we will make our own consolation by radiating the fulnggs of jgy and gladness to the needy lives we touch With the white, we have blended blue, which represents dis tinction Each graduate should remember and follow the princi ples of our class colors Purity and distinction should be the goal of each of us The Class of '57 has chosen for its motto Uwatch Us Climb U Success isn't given away like a prize,we have to climb the stairs if we ever intend to gain it let us remember this and climb on to greater heights Janis Levell, Author 0 l -I - e Wx 6 - r - . my K-. ff Lg' 4 - I .
