PROPHECY I had been in Combat training ever since my lQth birthday, a a iet pilot, in 1959, that wa ll years ago The Captian told me I should have a furlough for four weeks I decided to spend a week with my daughter, wayne Sue, and my hu band in Indianapolis Afterward I would pend the re t of the vacation trying to locate my old classmates from de r old Leavenworth Hi As I landed at the Leavenworth Airport, I topped very close to someone who was cleaning the landing strip It was none other than Carl McCoy He said he had been cleaning streets and landing strips for some years now and he hadn't been hit by an automobile or airplane I thought uIt's a wonder H I asked him if he knew where any of our old cla smate were hibernating? He said he knew where one was doing Ju t that, Leon Landers, and if I would ask him he was another Rip Van winkle I learned as I talked to him that Berdie Wilkins had ju t married nDennis the Menace' and they were on their honeymoon in las Vegas Patsy Bowman was still keeping house in Beechwood for Harold I hailed a taxi to take me to the busy part of town I thought I recognized the driver and I did' It was Leo Lavin The cat eye glasses wa what threw me off He told me he could afford any type glasses with all the money he was making as a Hot Rod Racer in his spare time He took me to the famous Alcorn A Spencer Studios I learned that Wayne Alcorn had another nHound Dogn voice and what they thought their be t sel er was Wayne said it was his song You Ain't Nothing but an Alley Cat,' and Helen would do her dance, nJitterbug Cat walk,' to it I told them good by and I decided I would eat I walked into the first re taurant I came to, which was Mexican The wait ress that waited on me was Edith Bye She told me she had been working here for seven years and that there would be entertainment later on A spotlight was flashed and out walked an announcer who announced that the first number would be a dance done by 'Barbara the Girl with the Cha, Cha'M I was Very much surprised to see Barbara Eaton step out As I talked with her later, I asked where her old pal Josce Tucker was She said she was away on a tour with the company which she worker for as a Nylon Stocking Model We said good by and I left with a sorrowing heart that we would have to part so soon As I was walking down the street, I came to a Gambling Casino which bore the name Ron Mau s Gambling Casino ' I thought maybe it could be my classmate Ronald Maurice Mix, and it was' He told me he was responsible for his old pal Carl Austin being sentenced to six months in the Leavenworth Prison at Leaven worth, Kansas He said he was going to fly out there and see what he could do I told him I would fly him out in the morning at 6 OO sharp Ronnie was a little late as usual, we left Leavenworth at 8 30 when we reached Leavenworth, Kansas, he went on to the Prison and I went to see the New Hospital that had been built recently As I walked into the Father's waiting room, I bumped into Robert Parr It seemed that he was very nervous at the time and all of a sudden I realized it' Robert was expecting, rather Mae was' He told me Mae wanted a girl but he wanted a boy He said Mae usually got her way As we were talking, he told me that an hour ago Connie Clutinger, the former Connie Knight, had just given birth to red headed twins I was not able to see her because she and Edward were having a family reunion at that time I told Robert to say Hello for me and I said Good by to him. They were having a circus that night so I decided to stay and see it. I heard a man shouting nStep right up and see the strongest man in the world, Hercules.' As I walked closer, I saw it was Marvin Coleman. He was as much surprised to see me as I was him. He told me there were some more old friends in this circus, too. Russell Yates was supposed to be an Eskimo from Anartic. Marvin made me promise I wouldn't tell on Russell. He informed me that Jim Roll and Sue waggoner had teamed up as Bronco Busters for the Rodeo. He said that they hadn't got married yet, but every time a horse threw one of them, the other one was always asking the other to forgive him. I told Marvin Good-by and that I hoped he would bring the circus to Indianapolis sometime. I became hungry for some ice cream. when I stopped at an ice cream stand, someone told me she would taste the ice cream and the kind that tasted the best she would give to me. It was no one but Sally Beasley. She told me that she loved ice cream. I talked with her and found out that Judy Chanley worked for the Blub Tub Bath Tub COMPSDY as a Bath Tub Model. Sally told me that she always wears a bathing suit Loretta Kellum worked for the same company as a , S . . . s s s H- s s . U s . ' . 0 sf 0 ' .
