T. C. A. ln l938 the T. C, A. was founded. Its aim was to do everything its name applies, Tech Craftsmen's Aid and to aid the pupils of L. H. S. in the following way: l-To help in every way humanly possible each student and his or her family. 2-To visit the sick, send flowers, fruit or books to sick or disabled pupils. 3-To send notes of sympathy, mass cards, flowers, to visit all wakes, and to send a committee to those unfortunate homes. , 4-To be constantly on the lookout for families who are truly in need of help 5-To report all such cases to the T, C. A. for immediate action. 6-To send books, puzzles, and airplane models to the crippled boy ar girl who is able to sit up a few hours each day. 7-To do our best to live up to the standards of democracy in our deeds and to be liberal to all. 8-To treat every boy, regardless of religion, creed, color, or blood as an equal under the flag of our great nation. The T. C. A. Dance Club is a social auxiliary which holds its meetings each Monday night. This dance club is as old as the main organization and has given our members many hours of pleasure. Our organizations are for all pupils. They have been successful in doing a few of the things that a true Christian would do, not only at Christmas but all through the year. The Class of I947 wishes to extend its congratulations to the T. C. A. and also to Mr. Clarence MacNiven, and sincerely hopes that it continues its good work.

ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION The Athletic Association was organized in i936 to promote an interest in sports at Leavenworth. At that time basketball was the only school sport. The team was in a Class D league and there was very little interest or school spirit. The Athletic Association aroused student interest and with their help raised enough money to equip a football team by the fall of I937. Two years later they were instrumental in establishing and equipping a school baseball team. Since I939 Leavenworth has successfully competed against Class A teams in football, basketball, and baseball. High school sports in Waterbury must be self supporting. With the splendid support ancl cooperation of the students, the Athletic Association has always been able to equip and support the school teams in all sports. The Athletic Association is particularly proud of the record of this year's basketball team' Naugatuck Valley League Champions, runner-up in the State Tournament at New l-laven, and New England Champions. The officers and members of the Athletic Association are: John A. Dillon, President Frank G. Regan, Secretary James A. Lord, Vice-President Jacob D. Rieger, Treasurer Ellery C. Kilbourn James J. O'Neill Paul Perazelli Joseph F. Rosse Willliam l-l. Tracy
