7ech Jam 'W FOOTBALL This year Leavenworth had a football squad equal to the best in all its history. Under the splendid coaching of Mr. Tracy, comparatively new to the job, the team came through in fine shape, winning three of the seven games played. Lead by their able captain, Lazeski, the Tech team broke loose to defeat the strong Crosby team for the first time in Leavenworth's history by the score of 8 to 6. Before meeting Wilby, disaster struck at Gilbert. Beginning the second half, the kick-off was received by Lazeski, who made a mad dash up the field, was soon stopped. There was a pile-up. Some one was hurt. Who was it? For a minute we couldn't tell, then it was found that Lazeski had broken his leg and was unable to play for the remainder of the season. This great loss was felt by both team- mates and students of the school. Without the captain, the Tech men went to meet Wilby. Played a brilliant game but were defeated by the score of 20-0. The students of Leavenworth High School extend their appre- ciation to Mr. Tracy for his excellent job of coaching. 7ech Aim 'Aff BASKETBALL Although not very successful during the past year, the basket- ball squad has had high spirits. They met some strong teams and fought vigorously to defeat them. People will say they lost because they were no good. Well, we know for a fact that these boys are all good ball players but, the class A competition given by various strong teams was too great for the Tech basketeers. Next year the basketball team will lose this year's captain and co-captain, Tom Caisse and Nick Santopie-tro, but we feel sure Mr. Tracy can find men to equal them, and if he does, Tech will turn out another team that will go in fighting, no matter how great the odds. Again this year, both Mr. Tracy and the team should be com- plimented on their splendid showing. The teams the Tech squad met were as follows: 10 ,...,....,,.
