His early educa- tion was completed at the Ele- mentary Vocational School, where he first originated the idea of becoming a pattern-mak- er or a carpenter. A darl- ing, dimpled infant opened its Irish-blue eyes and proclaimed the arrival of Herbert, more commonly known as Bus or Mike . Like all other infants this one grew up.
