Q-HWDN Wu' Honor 509 i CHARLOTTE H MERRELL To Charlotte H Merrell, whose quiet efficiency and day by-day dependability de erve a well earned recognition, we dedicate the l95l NRoll Call Before coming to Wolcott as cafeteria manager ten years ago, Mrs Merrell taught homemaking at North Hose Previous to this she was assistant dietlcian at Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio Returning to Cornell, where she graduated as a home eco nomics major, she was manager of the home cafeteria and also instructor of institutional management until l93l. Since then she has repeatedly given instruction in menu planning and large-quantity cooking at summer school. Also, Mrs. Merrell has written articles for several bee journals about the use of honey in cooking. Mrs. Merrell was valedictorian of her high school class in Utica, and at Cornell University she belonged to several honor societies and joined the Sigma Kappa sorority. Red is her favorite colorg driving- her weakness. And she is well equipped with a sense of dry, spontaneous humor. Despite an exceptionally successful career, Mrs. Merrell's deepest interest remains in her home and family, of whom she is justly proud. Her ability to plan and prepare the school day's lunch so expertly has won for her wide recognition. The students too realize that careful budgeting is involved and want her to know that those many days on which she provides something special do not go unno ticed. 3 We -sg, 2 . 9 it f r 5 L T L if . . - . .
