CURRICULA: The academic areas covered on different levels include Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Sciences, Developmental Reading; Foreign Languages and Study Skills. Creativity and Physical Development are encouraged throughout the school in Fine and Applied Arts, Dramatics, Speech, Debate, Music, Journalism; Athletics and Swimming. Such media as the Planetarium and Science Labs, Library, Computer Lab, Audio-Visual equipment, tape recordings, overhead projectors, and the reading laboratory enhance the learning programs. The Lear School philosophy is founded on a hrm commitment to promote the creative, intellectual growth of our students. This has been the framework with-in which our programs have been developed since our origin in 1934, The goals include an academic environment to encourage each student to further his capabilities, energies, and interests. Our objectives are to provide skills and factual knowledge; to stimulate creative thinking, ethical values and realistic seIf-confidence. Our aim is to help students to complete a continuous, meaningful, college-preparatory course, an important phase in attaining the satisfaction and success of the total individual.
