HMy interest is in the future, because 1am going to spend the rest of my life there." Charles F. Kettering The FUTURE! This vast expanse of time fast approaching- what does it hold? As we stand on the brink of tomorrow contemplating what is to be, it behooves us to hrst take a backward glance at what has gone before. Looking back over our formative years we can see the great part our parents, families, and friends have played in contributing to our growth and development. Their unwavering love and emotional support have sustained us through the many trials and tribulations of growing up. But it is especially significant, in looking back, to see how our academic surroundings have infiuenced our lives. As seniors, we have been most fortunate in having sincere and dedicated teachers to provide us with a Firm foundation of knowledge. These fine educators constantly endeavored to establish an atmosphere conducive to. the expression of our creative ideas, abilities, and ambitions. Under the administrative guidance of the Lear School, we have been imbued with a high code of ethics. These positive values and attitudes will serve weil as a base for sustaining future relationships endowed with a mutual trust and respect. As the hrst graduating class of a new decade, we look forward with eager anticipation to opportunities that, heretofore, had not existed. Careers never before dreamed of are, today, within the grasp of those brave enough to strive for them. We are now prepared to pierce the curtain of the future and begin to shape our lives. Relying on our inner strength and intellect, we, the class of 1980, are confident that we can face with courage whatever comes our way. Open, ye portals of time, as we link our past and present to a triumphant future! Bonne Schehin 1980 FUHEUJDHD
