Wil LEALMAN CGMPREHENSIVE MIDDLE SCHQQL ADVENTURES IN LEARNING L THE DIRECTICN Learning ls An Adventure Lealman Comprehensive Middle School is an alternative educational plan conceived to provide a transitional program geared to successful integration of it's students into an appropriate educational program at the high school level. Candidates for Lealman have to be identified as students whose educational needs cannot be met in the traditional school setting and are seen as potential leavers . Special emphasis is placed on evaluating strengths and apptitudes, behavior problems, and social awareness then developing a self- directed educational program with pre-vocational experiences. Self- directed learning experiences are made possible by having small classes with professional and personalized services. By having these assets, student's schedules can be arranged to meet the needs of each individual student. Lealman's goal, under the direction of Scotty East, Principal, is to create an atmosphere that fosters the notion that learning is an Adventure , By placing the responsibility for education in the hands of each student this pre-vocational institution hopes to generate specific areas of interest that will encourage each student toward higher education and ultimately successful integration into the adult working community. 2 ist., ries,-:mais was mum f, ,, we 1 ,. ,K THE 1-1, W' I l Q i il i gif, ,M .
