The city tournament, as well it should, turned out to be an exciting climax. ln the first game we defeated Disston 15-13. The second game saw Disston rack up too great a lead for our boys to overcome and we lost 8-15. Heartbreaking as it was, our boys dropped the last game 13-15 to be eliminated from the tournament. Basketball appeared to be a series of defeats for the team until our boys came up with a spirited 28-8 win over St. Pauls. High point man on the Varsity Team was Charles Lott. Frank Kellestine led the Junior Varsity with 39 points. 5 ,I x 1 ff ,if mf 1 e rl? t . A. J. Intramural volleyball, basketball, and softball create keen competition and help us to realize the true value of good sportsmanship. The only completed in- tramural tournament at the time of publication is volley- ball. The winners were: Ninth Grade, Room 13, Eighth Grade, Room 4-3 and Seventh Grade, Room 12. All three teams then defeated the respective grade champs from Mirror Lake. Other sports enjoyed by the girls during class and after school were: tennis, bowling, archery, horseshoes, shuffle board, croquet, tumbling, and ping pong.
