The nnu 1 High School was Tex s on nay 1, ried out in the THE JUFIOR SENIOR BANQUET Junior Sen or b nquet of the League City held at the Hotel G lvez in Galveston, 1942 at 8 p The banquet was car theater theme Joyce Sowders opened the b nquet proceedings by handing the guest tlekets directing them to their se ts from the beautifully decor ted ticket office in the cor rider outside of the banquet hall The tickets were given in exchange for invit tion coupons rec ived several weeks ago The candles used for lighting created a festive atmosphere in the Phantom Theater At th ir places the guests found favors in the form of small corsages of blue cornflowers tied with a blue and white ribbonrepre senting th senior class colors The guests wer named fter movie stars and each found a picture of that cole brity in the banquet progr m booklet Kenneth Thomson, president of the Junior Class, was ma ter of ceremonies Dave L Gates delivered the 1 come in behalf of the Junior Class Freda Hints, presi dent of the Senior Glas gave the response The pro gram was carried outin acts Inset one Emery Ostcrmanln troduced the celebrities present and asked each to stand as his name w e lled Mari n Bauer g ve a pi no solo, Sylvia As act two an opera in three scenes with a pro logue wa presented The cast included Fire Chief, Kenneth Thomson, Grah m Emery Osterman, Annie, Mari n Bauer, Big Bad Wolf, Le ter Ketchum, Soldier, Jimmie Arolfo Cowboy, Kenneth Parr, Three Little Pigs Bea triee Ar nda, Joyce Sewders, and Johnnie Arolfo Foreign Woman's Sowders Act three consisted of a reading,NA First V1 it to the Gr nd Cper H by Joyce solo, nPolon also by M ri n Bauer and the presentation the academy awards for the best acting, the best directing, nd the best play of the senior plays Awards for dis tinguished cting went to M rion Cross s Gertie , - - a a - i a H A x Q , - a V . m.
