Taking on an enormous task, the 32 students of Leaf River put all their energies into presenting the spectacular musical The Sound of Music. Guided by Mr. Woodson and Ms. Alvey and assisted by Mr. Gilpin, Mr. Olson, Mr. Nelson and Mrs. Nelson, these students did an excellent job in their performances. A great deal of time and effort went into the practices especially since the play involved so many cast members. A special thank you should also be given to Jill Swanson who did an excellent job as accompanist. With many beautiful and well- known songs, the audience was indeed delighted with the final outcome. The dinner and dance were held at Maxson's Manor in a beautiful setting along the Rock River. After the buffet-style banquet. Junior class president Bob Betz welcomed the Seniors. Speaking for the Seniors Mike Carr, Senior president, thanked the Juniors. Class wills, best memories and advice to underclassmen were then read. Dancing followed, with everyone having a good time, including a certain group of faculty members. Post-prom was then held at the Oregon Bowling Center until 5 A.M. where students bowled, played video games and, of course, ate pizza after pizza after pizza. The Juniors and especially their advisor, Ms. Alvey deserve much credit for their hard work. Both the 400 meter relay and Lisa McKinley in the long jump placed second at conference. Lisa McKinley was also high- point scorer of the team. T rack 67 PEP SPIRIT ENTHUSIASM Frosh Soph cheerleaders were Cathy Harris, Lisa McKinley, Jean Campbell, Ranae Jones, Jami Cook and Carrie Cook.
