Class Play âGet Witch Quickââ The Junior Class Play, 'Get Witch Quick', was a comedy in three acts about a college for witches and one of the witches falling in love with a mortal. It seems that one student, Lucinda Frye was so jealous of the student secretary, June lie Kemp, that she cast a spell of love on her. This then leads to many other problems, but ends with everyone living 'happily ever after. ' JR. Class Play 21 The Senior Class Presents Mother Is A Freshman She's probably a sweet old lady! This comedy is about an extremely attractive young mother who is forced to attend college with a daughter who regards her as a womout, over 30 has-been. She is enrolled as a freshman while her daughter is a sopho- more. Abby's reason for going to college is financial. She's used up most of her husband's insurance money and the only way she can afford to keep Susan in school is to accept an unusual but generous scholarship that provides enough money for both of them. Susan points out what a lonely old lady her mother will be on campus like a left over chaperon. But things just don't go the way Susan imagines they will. Her good-looking mother makes quite a hit with the college boys and especially a certain zoology professor who happens to be her daughter's puppy love. The Dean is always looking for an excuse to expell Mrs. Abbott and finally his chance comes. She slaps the professor and she is expelled. Soon after the misunderstanding is cleared up and Mrs. Abbott and Susan are able to return to college and things return to normal. The play was well received by everyone and the cast should be congratulated on a job well done. 22 Senior Play The director? Track Baseball Those players on the 1973 Leaf River High School baseball team were Seniors: Brian Mayer, Murray Leerhoff, Juniors: Paul Borne man, Gary Mayberry, Doug McKay, Sophomores: Tim Leisson, Danny Zellers, and Freshman: Tom Barber, Jay Leisson, Eric Nelson, and Brad Miller. Highest Batting Average RBI Leader Tim Leisson . 383 Brad Miller The Leaf River baseball team has a good future because of their strong freshman, sophomore, and junior players which will be returning next year. Hopefully next year, the rain will not be such a damper on play and more games can be scheduled. Also, hopefully, more players will try out for the team and thus make it 10096 successful.
