 VcVKli t section The Leaf River Varsity started the season with two impressive wins. In the opening game they com- pletely outclassed the Buda eleven 47-0. Next they soundly defeated their arch rivals, Forreston, by the score 38-7. But following this, injuries began to plague the squad, and it lost its remaining games. SafiA poot zCC The Leaf River Fresh-Soph were the captors of the Route 72 Conference football crown. They swept through the season undefeated. Their only step from a perfect season was a 13-13 tie at the hands of Stillman. However, their spirit and skill, along with the guiding hand of Coach Bergner, gave them a season ending with a 14-13 win over Pecatonica and the right to that beautiful trophy which now sits in the Leaf River trophy case.
