F. H. A. is an organization of pupils whose aim is to work to- gether closely to build better and happier home life for all. The two hands shown in the emblem symbolize that the homes of tomorrow are in the hands of youth today. We think, as well as everyone else, that making happy homes is one of the most important things that we can do for the world today. The F. H. A. for this year has a total of 36 members of which 18 were initiated into F. H. A. at our annual initiation ceremony on October 6, 1955. As money-making projects for the year of 1955-1956, we sponsored candy sales and a chili supper. Other activities in which we participated were a Thanksgiving party, a baby queen contest, an Easter egg hunt, entertaining a school of the section, a Mother-Daughter Banquet, and various picnics. Much time and per- sonal effort is put forth for this activity. An essential part of any competitive sport is the organized cheering of the student body. This year, both the varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders did an excellent job in leading the cheers at all of the football and basketball games. They also led cheers at pep assemblies, which aided in giving the teams valuable support. It is true that the cheerleaders have a difficult task; nevertheless, this year our cheerleaders have succeeded in carrying out their duties very well. Though this year was not profitable in the win-lose column, we believe that a tradition of competitiveness and desire to win has been inaugurated as a foundation for future teams to build on. The boys worked hard and learned that with hard work comes en- joyment. Front row: Gaylord Hachmeister, Gerald Schelling, Larry Knodle, Jack Snyder, Junior Hunziker.
