Captain -lolm ixll'lil'lllll was the mainstay of the squad this year, ably supported by ten lettermen. Metirath participated in lull and ZZII-yard dashes, the broad jump, and several relay teams. Other lettermen and their events were: Fred Siegfriedt, SSH-yard dash: joe Beckley, 444i-yard dash and relay, Kenneth llali. hurdles, Thomas Chapman, relavg Arden Swanson, relay, Merritt Olson. relavg XVilliam Christianson, 14141-varl dash. high jump, and relay: and Donald Muth, relav. .-Xnoiher minor sport, juvenile basketball, held its atmaial XVest River juvenile tournament in Lead on March .24 and 25. 'This tournament was organized by R. G. Cartwright in 1924. Sinve thai time, -Hill teams and a total of 2.835 players bave participated in this event. Three I.eail weight teams, the XS-pound, lllli-pound, and heavvweights, and the Deadwood 115-pound team. were successful in Carrying off trophies in this loth play-off. The S5-pound team Wits t-oat-hed by Raymond Kramer, the ltlll-pound by Don Pitcher. the 115-pound by Ted Configliaeeo. and the heavvvveights bv Lester St. john. Mr. Cartwright also sponsored the boys' division of the High School Tennis tournament in which Lvnn XVarren proved himself superior. In the girls' division, under Niiss Siple's iliret'tion.
