SING AND BE MERRY Mixed chorus had a busy year. They participated in a “Singing Community” project with the Middle School music classes and chorus, Christmas concert, Spring concert, the musical, “Down in the Valley” and Baccalaureate. The Girls Ensemble attended the District Festival contest in April at ISU. Singing three selections, the group rated a First Division. Mark Vickroy and Sonya Scott sang solos in competition. Both received first ratings. Sonya Scott was selected from hundreds of auditioners over the State to be a member of the Illinois All-State Chorus at Arlington Heights in January. This is a coveted position and an honor for Sonya and the school. A “Full house” of Madrigal Singers (16) finished an interesting year. Highlights were the Christinas Madrigal Dinners (10th annual performance), assembly, contest (winning a First Division) and an appearance in the Spring Concert. The group also sang for several church and civic organizations. Not pictured is the Boys Quartet, consisting of R. Dardano, M. Vickroy, E. Bock, and D. Ethcrton. They rated a II in competition. 20
