f-f M6C0ttufig—75 The big week began with each class working diligently on their float and banner. The Freshman class hung their sign on Monday, the Sophomores flaunted their winning banner Tuesday, the Juniors contributed their spirited banner on Wednesday, and the Seniors hung in there with their display on Thursday. Thursday of Homecoming Week spirit started to gain momentum. The Powder Puff football teams wore their maroon and white jerseys to school to solicit support for the “big game.” That night the LHS student body gathered at L. A. McKean Field for a rousing pep assembly. Then the burley girls showed the boys how to play a stirring game of no-contact flag football. The final event of the evening was the bonfire. After a few rousing cheers, the 1973 Homecoming King and Queen were announced. Brian Cox and Julie Bock were the selected couple. Friday spirit soared. Skits were presented by various groups and the parade wound its way through the streets of LeRoy. The Junior Class won the float competition with the theme, “We’re Expecting a Victory.” That night, the LeRoy Panthers battered the Heyworth Hornets to a 14-6 victory. At half-time, Julie Bock was crowned queen. Following the exciting game, the dance sponsored by the L-Club, was held in the Elemen tary School. Kevin Schultz (7) leads the LHS football team to a rousing 14-6 victory over the Heyworth Hornets.
