CLASS PROPH ECY In the sad year of 1979 Bruce Welsh now a great sclentlst decided to take a break 1n f1fteen years of steady work 1n h1s secluded laboratory 1n Nevada He stepped into his 1920 Model T Ford and speeded down the mountain side After three ha1rp1n curves he spotted a boulder on the road and slammed on h1s brakes to avo1d h1tt1ng it and to h1s astonishment he saw that it was one of h1s old classmates Paula Sue Meats out deer hunting After a short chat they decided to look up all their classmates of 1959 They boarded a get to go back to LeRoy only tofind that the p1lot was another classmate Buddy Graham Land 1ng in LeRoy and being rather tired Buddy took them to his house for a little refreshment Arr1v1ng at his home aone room shack by the ra1lroad track h1s w1fe Janice and nineteen klds ran out to greet him Seeing that they could get no rest they b1d him good bye and went on their way Joy r1d1ng 1n the country they passed a big sign that read The Klaus Guinea Ranch and saw a little farther down the road their old classmate Raymond 1ncubat1ng a nest of gu1nea eggs Ray was too busy to talk so they continued their trip Dropping back to LeRoy they wanted something to drink so they found the drug store which was owned by none other than their old friend Larry Hess Larry now owns a chain of around one hundred drug stores Sticking around until night and looking fora l1ttle amusement they spied the Old Maids Lonely Hearts operated by Judy Houston and Martha Hutchins Bemg short of t1me they said Hello and started on the1r Journey Once more on their way Paula and Bruce boarded a rocket boat down the Neosho R1ver to New Orleans ten minutes later stopping in Memph1s to refuel To their surprise the Stor rer s Store of Liquor and Liquids was owned and operated by Pete Storrer another old class mate Ten seconds later they were off again Arr1v1ng at D1ck s Dock 1n New Orleans they Jolnt run by two former classmates Melvm Ratz and Dee Mltchell now Mr and Mrs Ratz Stopping 1ns1de they found Dee waiting on tables and Melvm slmging hash in the kitchen After eating they contmued on their way Going to the travel agency who should they discover at the 1nformat1on booth informing l1ke crazy but LaVerne Ohmle Being informed of the beautiful scenery in Mex1co they b1d their old classmate good bye and went on their way Arr1v1ng at Tiaguana they walked down the street to a shade tree where a couple were selling pottery Stopping to look they found that Sharon Storrer and her sleeping husband Dan Fund1s were sell ing it After pouring water on him he awoke and said Hello As lt was so hot Mr and Mrs Fund1s adv1sed them to go to the nearest saloon for a cool drink Saying so long they walked towards the saloon When they reached the doora man came flying out and landed in the street Going inside they found James Brink He was employed as a bouncer After a few dr1nks they discovered that Paula had lost her purse On J1m s suggest1on they went to the Tiajuana Jail to report the loss Inside they found that the sheriff had picked up Paula s purse in the street After rece1v1ng the purse they were about to leave when they heard two vo1ces smgmg in the cell blocks that sounded fam1l1ar Go1ng to the back they found James Lake and Larry Brutchin al1as Jack and Russell two old classmates singing the old song Txa Juana Ja1l Upon leaving Mexlco Bruce and Paula headed for the Lone Star State Travelmg down a lonesome road they stopped at a prospectors camp and who did they find digging for gold in a dry creek but Dahlia McCullough and Sherry Crotts After stopping for a short talk to remember the good old days in L R H S they continued on toward their homes After arriving back 1n Nevada Bruce and Paula havmg fallen-1n love on the1r trip got married and lived happ1ly ever after 1n Bruce s secluded laboratory , ' . . , . . , . .
