Understanding, good judgement, and kindness are some of the qualities of the recipient of this year's Wolcott Street School Dedication. At one time or another she has come in contact with almost all the students of LeRoy Cen- tral, and she has demonstrated a profound interest in each. As a school nurse, she has had to keep complete and accurate records of every student. And among her many other duties, she had to constantly test eyes and ears. In ad- dition, she managed to find some time in her busy schedule to help students with their personal problems, as well as those illnesses and minor injuries which occur during a normal school day. In her spare time Miss Smith enjoys sewing and play- ing bridge. She also is an excellent cook and enjoys fine res- taurant dining for a change of pace. During the summer, she enjoys fishing and water activities at Lake Champlain, in upstate New York. You can recognize Miss Smith by her tall and slender figure, sweet voice, and her attractive clothes. Certainly, recognition is due to Miss Smith for all the dedication and years of service she has given to the LeRoy School System. Teacher . . . Advisor . . . Coach . . . Friend . . . These qualities only partially describe the recipient of the 1975 High School Dedication. Because of his devotion to working with us and watching us progress through our Junior and Se- nior High School years, he has gained the respect, admira- tion, and affection of us all. Having been an advisor of our class for the past six years, numerous opportunities arose for him to have personal contact with each of us. As a result, he has become more of a friend than a teacher. Cleaning up after Friday night football games, chaperoning fun-nights, working hard at the Chicken Barbeque, and planning dances are a few of the many and varied responsibilities he has as- sumed. He has a certain magnetism about him that encour- ages students to voluntarily participate in activities, both in and out of school. During his eight years at Le Roy, he has also been ac- tive in the athletic program as Head Coach of the Junior Var- sity Basketball and Assistant Coach of the Junior Varsity Football teams. In these two positions, he personally demon- strated the qualities of fair play, good sportsmanship, and leadership which he has indelibly impressed on all the mem- bers of his teams.
