A member of the LHS faculty since 1969, he instructs his classes with a unique enthusiasm. It is clear that his classroom is a place for learning, but he is always Willing to share a joke. Demanding, as well as understanding, he does his utmost to help his students. Giving HIS best, OURS is expected in return. As a curriculum co-ordinator since 1970, he has gained the respect of the faculty and administration. He has served the community as president of the Jaycees, and by working on the Genesee County Jr. Miss Pageant. This involvement has led this individual to have an outstanding rapport with both grade and high school students. His teaching techniques help to make the most uninteresting subject more bearable, and the classroom more entertaining. The famous pointing finger, amusing plays, and a paper clip on his lip all characterize him. As a former advisor to ski club, he has shown many students the lim of skiing, even though he had to buckle bindings while still half asleep at early morning sessions. He is not only concerned with the education of his students, but has a personal interest in each one. The class of 1974, therefore with pride and great respect present the Wolcott Street School Dedication to you, Mr. William Shaffer. 5
