Russell There are so many significant jobs in our school upon which one's attention is focused that we sometimes forget the im- portant behind-the-scenes toil without which l.e Roy High would cease to function. lt is for this reason that we wish to single out Mrs. Marian .-X. Russell and express our gratitude for the hours of work in which, for most of us. only the results are obvious. The class of '56 realizes it is such people that make l.e Roy the great school it is. Charles D. Graney, M. D. Richard C. Fitch The class ol 1956 takes pleasure in ex- pressing its appreciation to Mr. Richard C. Fitch for the nne job he has done during this, his lirst year as principal of l.e Roy High. ll'e feel that our senior year has been more enjoyable for his being here and we respect him for the capable way he has taken over the manifold responsibilities of his position. The class of '56 wishes Mr. Fitch continued success in his career at l.e Roy High School. in llffemoaiam The death of Dr. Charles D. tiraney in March of l956 was a great loss felt by both tlie l.e Roy Central Schools and the C0l'lll'lll1llltj' at large. During thirty of the lifty-three years he practiced medicine in l.c Roy. llr. Graney was a member of the Board of Education and for eight years he served as its president. ln addition he was school physician for twenty-seven years.

Mr. l.ane has proven himself not only a helpful counselor and hard worker hut also a warm friend to the many members of the class of 356 who have come to know him personally. Although he is :perpetually busy with our bands and choruses, he has always managed to lind-time to lend a helping hand or a word of advice to our class and its members. lfle has a gilt for making us see the lighter side ol problems. and worl-ring with him or lor him has always seemed more play than drudgery. XXX- will not soon forget his helpful advice. humor, and eagerness to aid us, and so, with deep pride and fond memories of the years behind us, we dedicate this O-AT-KAN of 1956 to Mr. William T. Lane.

Qmwmi liveryone has heard it said in his history classes many times, XVe live in an era of change. Any student at l.. lfl. S. can readily see this in our new equip- ment, a far cry from our school lO years ago. XYith this fact in mind the O-.Yli-KXX editors at their lirst meeting adopted the slogan, lt's time for a change. The yearhoolcs of the past were rigid little pieces of literature following a strict forin-ibut not any more. lf at first yon're a little confused talce heart: you prohahly have lots of com- pany.
