Among the activities ofthe year were the institution ofa Junior Prom and the sponsor- ing of the University of Rochester Glee Club concert, which had also been our project in the preceding year. Cn September twenty-third, the Senior Class of sixty- three members was organized with Ellsworth Baldwin, presi- dent, Fern Ludlum, vice-president, Mary MacKenzie, treasurer, and Isadore Levinstein, secretary. Our motto, Through difficulties to the stars, was an inspiration which we gladly grasped and kept before us. Our activities during this year have been successively carried out in every respect. Being noted for our originality, we presented an assembly program which was deemed worthy of presentation before the public, so December twenty- seventh went down in history as our stage debut. Other high spots were our play, Skidding, and the Senior Ball. The class has had its share of participantsin almost every phase of the school's extra-curricular activities. We have been well represented in various speaking contests, the newly-formed debate team, music, athletics, and school pub- lications, while most of the organized groups have boasted oiiicers from our number. After work comes play, and we took ours at Easter- time when fifty of us went to Washington for a week of real fun and, at the same time, educational travel. And now, we bid good-bye to our dear old L. H. S., and departing, we fervently hope that our success and happi- ness will be always as evident as it has been while within her portals. Dayton, class advisors. Our peppy cheer leaders are Betty Cochran and Betty Ferguson. Student Council has been fortunate in having our brilliant representatives, Betty Cochran and Earl Rubens. We have certainly lived up to our motto, 'factions speak louder than words, for we have engaged in many activities, all of them successful. Our Junior Assembly was a huge success, our junior Prom on the good ship L. H. S., one of the best dances ever. The Rochester Glee Club Concert, under our supervision, was the best attended one to date. The sale of candy at most of the school events has helped our hnances greatly. NOW the Juniors are all ready for their Senior year. Ofcourse, We are all sorry to see the Seniors of '30 leave, but every dog has his day and We're all set for ours. The team, which was coached by Miss Scott, was entered in the Union College lnterscholastic Debating League. In a closely contested debate with Greigsville, Le Roy Won its first victory which gives us the district cup. A conflict in dates prevented the team Hom meeting Faulkener, its second opponent according to the League schedule. The team debated on the question of install- ment buying. Her best beau was coming and what could she do? The ice-box was empty, the cupboard was bare Yet Pol worried not-for some Jell-O was there! U -y But Jell-O, said Mother, that's just for dessert! Why Mother, said Polly, I thought you alert! Have you not been reading the new Jell-O way To make up a salad or entree today? u 4- if u You simply use Jell-O, you watch me and see. So Mother looked on, as surprised as could be! A small can of salmon, a green thing or so, And Pol had a meal that was fit for a beau. That night at the table 'twas good just to see ' I-low Polly's best beau was as pleased as could be To learn that his Polly had more than good looks- To learn that his Polly was Queen among Cooks! Next day he came back to give Polly the ring. And that is how Jell-O can happiness bring To girls who want husbands or those, just as well, Who want to hold husbands. 'So that's why we tell In all Jell-O ads of the new treats galore Of salads and entrees and such things and more That Jell-C can make up in ways new and smart To please a man's palate and capture his heart.
