ELEVEN YEARS . . . F THER REILLY Intellectual curiosity and philosophic wonder will always be a most cherished characteristic of our educative process. With these words spoken at his formal installation as President of LeMoyne College, the Reverend William L. Reilly, SJ. embarked upon an eleven year journey at the helm of the college, a journey marked by wondrous growth in all facets of life at LeMoyne. ln terms of physical growth, Fr. Reilly witnessed the comple- tion of the New Dimensions Five- Year Fund Development Program, a project enabling the campus to expand its services due to the construction of Foery Hall, Senior Women's Residence, and the Academic Complex. Future plans call for the completion of a sepa- rate building to house the Le- Moyne College library. Father Reilly also guided Le- Moyne through the socially con- scious 1960's toward being a socially oriented institution, a growth punctuated by the de- velopment of the HEPP and HEOP programs for educationally and economically disadvantaged high school students before and after graduation. The initiation of Project Inner City and the launch- ing of Project Equality, dedicated to fair hiring practices, also high- lighted this transition in Le- Moyne's growth toward full social awareness. Refusing to allow intellectual curiosity to blind his concern for practical matters, Father Reilly was particularly concerned with the financial problems which Le- Moyne and all other American colleges were forced to confront. He assumed a strong stance in support of passage of the New 6 wg. L Q T198 , :E ..,.. gl -ESA
