C Su er 'Sax' with another su er save. P P Savage! ! ! Frustration, perseverance, and high voltage excitement characterized the 1967 soccer campaign. Following victories over Auburn and Utica, the Dolphins optimistically opened the season at Clark- son. Victory was in sight as Le Moyne scored twice in the opening period. A string of whistles by the oliicials, however, gave Clarkson enough momen- tum to bounce back and win. Team spirit suffered greatly from the opening setback. In the next four games the team played well, but could never sustain eighty-eight minutes of good soccer. A narrow 2-1 loss to Hobart marked the team's lirst really good showing. jerry Fralick scored the lone Dolphin goal and fullbacks Phil Matzke, Randy Webster and Tim LaShomb did yeoman work against the talented Hobart line. The long sought victory came with a 5-4 deci- sion over Canisius before an enthusiastic home crowd. Fralick and leading scorer Wally Mirgirod led the way with first period goals. Mike Kwee and Bob Logan touched the nets as Le Moyne built up a commanding 5-1 lead. Canisius rallied in the waning minutes but fell short as the happy booters nailed down their first victory. Buoyed by their first win and Mike Kwee's two goals, the soccer team came from behind to tie a powerful St. Lawrence squad. As he did all season, goalie jim Saxby turned in another outstanding game in the nets. The campaign closed at home with a thrilling 3-2 double overtime victory over Harpur.
